Welcome

This is the blog of prop artisan, theatre BFA technical production student, crafting-art junkie, and a newbie cosplay costumer Moondancer Drake. I love learning new techniques whenever I can, and here is where I share what I am learning on campus and off whether it be costuming, prop related, millinery tidbits, or even puppertry. Enjoy!

Wonderflex and Fosshape

I found a something new I want to play with… its called Wonderflex (okay its not really new as much as new to me)

Now about Fosshape… I think we talked about that in my Millinery class, but I don't remember playing with it too much… I think it's work well for shapeable hats like top hats… I think we used it as a base for the turbans we made.

Info I've found

WONDERFLEX… • Standard 1 mm thickness (.039") • One side with SMOOTH construction for better coating or painting • Price for 1-5 sheets $43.95 per sheet 43" (109 cm) x 55" (140 cm) sheet size • Buy 6-9 sheets and pay only $40.95 per sheet

FOSSHAPE 300 • Standard weight of 9 oz/yd2 or 300 grs per sq/mtr at 0.150″ thickness. • Price for 1 to 9 yards is $13.25 per linear yard • (45″ x 36″= 1 yard or 114.3 cm x 91.44 cm= 1 yard) • Buy 10 to 49 linear yards and only pay $11.25 per yard

 FOSSHAPE 600 • Standard weight of 18 oz/yd2 or 600 grs per sq/mtr at .180″ thickness • Price for 1 to 9 yards is $26.00 per linear yard • 45″(114.3cm) by 36″ (91.4 cm)= 1 linear yard • Buy 10 to 49 linear yards and only pay $22.00 per yard

I've sent a request for a sample of both and will keep folks posted on what I think of it.
